ABOUT ME
John Morrison
I am a trained and qualified celebrant for conducting weddings with Humanists UK. My humanism comes from a life of working in human rights around the world with people of many different cultures and backgrounds. Weddings are universal, they are a celebration of love between two people and a sincere promise made in front of family and friends - a social contract. It is the most important commitment that anyone can make. Humanist weddings are based on three hundred years of enlightenment values - they are an affirmation of the inherent dignity of human life.
It is a privilege for me to work with couples to design and deliver truly memorable ceremonies. I draw on my experience as a public speaker, a human rights advocate and author working with the United Nations, BBC and leading charities. I led a number of international environmental campaigns during the 1990s and 2000s. I live on the south coast of England but have conducted ceremonies much further afield, including parts in Spanish.
